Information on electrical and electronic equipment
The following note is aimed at private end users who use electrical and / or electronic equipment.
1. Information on the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment and the meaning of the symbol in the appendix
In connection with the sale of batteries or with the delivery of devices that contain batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:
As the end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries and collect them separately from unsorted municipal waste. After use, you can return batteries to us or to the collection points provided for this purpose (e.g. in municipal collection points or in stores) free of charge. You can also send the batteries back to us by post. Please make sure to use sufficient postage.
If you have old devices with old batteries or old accumulators that are not enclosed by the old device, you must separate them from the device before handing them in at a collection point. This does not apply if the old devices are separated from other old devices by the public waste disposal authorities for the purpose of preparing them for reuse in order to prepare them for reuse.
Batteries containing pollutants are marked with a symbol consisting of a crossed-out garbage can and the chemical symbol (Cd, Hg or Pb) of the heavy metal that is decisive for the classification as pollutant.
You can use the symbol below – crossed-out garbage can – to identify old devices that must be disposed of separately from unsorted municipal waste:
2. Notes on the possibility of returning old devices:
If you own old devices, you can hand them in to the return or collection of old devices set up and available by the public waste disposal authorities for the purpose of proper disposal of old devices.
If necessary, electrical and electronic equipment can also be returned there for the purpose of reusing the equipment. You can obtain more information on this from the respective collection or return point.
